The
Royal Dunkeld Hotel, a former Coaching Inn is now a modern comfortable
hotel. We are located in some of the most beautiful countryside in the
United Kingdom.
From
Dunkeld, you are a short distance from the Fair City of Perth, the
ancient capital city of Scotland. Visitors to our hotel are close to
Loch Tay, the grandeur of Glenshee, and the awe inspiring Ben Lawers
All
the bedrooms at the Royal Dunkeld Hotel boast ensuite facilities, colour
television, radio, hospitality tray, hairdryer, trouser press and direct

Dunkeld itself has much to interest the visitor. The fort of the Celts
played a vital role in the early history of Scotland, both as a Royal
and Religious centre. It was the original seat of the chief bishop of
the mysterious kingdom of the Picts; Scotland’s first king, Kenneth
MacAlpin, built a stone church here early in the 9th century to house
the relics of St Columba; and under King David I it was the centre of
Christianity in all of Scotland.
As
you leave the hotel, take a stroll down Atholl Street and turn into the
old town centre, the site of the Battle of Dunkeld, stroll on a few
yards and view the Atholl Memorial Fountain, before visiting the
magnificent Dunkeld cathedral
All
of this and so much more can be found at the Royal Dunkeld hotel.
Dunkeld is an ideal base for many sporting activities, including Salmon
Fishing, Trout Fishing, Walking and Golf. Dunkeld is also wonderfully
located for touring much of Scotland |

Loch Tay Lodges offer beautiful self catering holiday accommodation, set
in the Heart of Scotland. They form part of Remony Estate, which
surrounds the picturesque village of Acharn, and enjoys stunning scenery
overlooking Loch Tay towards Ben Lawers and Schiehallion.
The stone built Grade
B listed building was originally constructed in the 1800’s by the Earl
of Breadalbane, to house crofters. This has now been sympathetically
converted to provide six comfortable lodges, whilst retaining many of
it's original features.
The Lodges are fully
equipped, requiring you only to bring your food and drink. They are
located between the village and the loch, with good parking, a safe play
area for children and easy access down to the loch where dogs may be
walked. A secluded beach and jetty with access to private boat shed and
moorings are a temptation to those wishing to use the estate boats, sail
their own, fish or simply paddle or have a picnic.
Relax and let
somebody else take the strain. Visit some of the many local restaurants
and bars, where you will receive a warm Highland welcome and be able to
taste the local produce. Nearby Kenmore boasts a village shop and Post
Office, from where a shopping list may be ordered and placed in your
lodge to await your arrival.
Aberfeldy, the local
town, can provide almost anything else you may need. Activities
available locally include hill walking, bird watching, horse riding,
golfing, fishing, sailing, white water rafting and other watersports for
the active. There are gentle walks, scenic tours and visits to castles
and distilleries for the less active.
Whether you are
seeking peace and seclusion or a more action packed break, there is
something for everyone. Each season of the year has its own special
appeal |

The Struan
Inn is a rare Scottish gem, a charming, authentically
traditional and rustic Highland village inn-style hotel. Built around
1863 when the main Edinburgh to Glasgow Railway line was constructed,
for the Struan Railway Station Master's home. Today it has been
carefully and tastefully been converted to an Inn, with a lot of charm
The scottish
owner has a wealth of knowledge based on over 20 years
visiting the area and 3 years running Struan Inn. In the modern age
there are too few properties and experiences of this distinctive charm
and ambience, even in Scotland
If you
are looking for a Highland retreat
Struan Inn is wonderful place to visit at all times of year, with many
activities available
to people of all ages. From numerous walking trails of varied degrees of
difficulty available within the area, to excellent fishing
opportunities, to more adventurous days out there is something for
everyone. There are many golf courses are available in the area, and
there are a good selection of shops in the surrounding towns and
villages |

In 1775
when Bonnie Prince Charlie was wandering the countries of Europe in
exile, the Inn that was to become The Royal Hotel was built in the
Highland Village of Comrie, on the site of an earlier tavern, in the
area known as Strathearn - The area was no stranger to the Prince, and
Comrie, originally Gaelic speaking, has played host to other larger than
life figures including: Robert the Bruce, Rob Roy McGregor, Robert Burns
and Queen Victoria - whose stay bestowed the name of The Royal Hotel on
Comrie major coaching inn
Comrie's
central position, makes it an ideal touring base for exploring the local
